Pranayama or the Breath of Life Exercises


Aside from postures, in this fun retreat you will be taught breathing exercises especially (Alternate nostril breathing or Anulom Vilom) and (Inhalation-Exhalation breathing or Kapal-Bhathi) which are extremely beneficial, restorative, relaxing, and rejuvenating.

Alternate nostril breathing has a calming effect on the nervous system, facilitates bodily homeostasis and calms the mind and puts one in a state of complete relaxation, promotes deep and invigorates the body and mind. It helps in managing stress and relieves anxiety and depression.

Inhalation-Exhalation breathing stimulates the pancreas to release insulin, helps control and prevent diabetes. This breathing exercise when combined with actions such as (pressure manipulations and isolation of abdominal-recti muscles) help control blood sugar. These practices balance the Basic Metabolic Rate (BMR) and maintains glucose homeostasis.
